A unique approach

I believe that discrimination begins with marginalization and disenfranchisement growing to ostracization and hostility. By combining my business acumen with my public policy understanding, I look beyond the surface to identify the underlying reasons that society marginalizes minorities. I then use my business, public policy, and adult education skills to share those insights with society; thus, informing positive social change.

About me

My passion is to expand scientific understanding of why society continues to blindly marginalize minorities.

No matter how qualified or capable a person is, if society does not consider that person beneficial, society will unconsciously render them powerless. My goal is to increase understanding of social discrimination, marginalization, and disenfranchisement of minority groups. Through increased comprehension, we can make this world a better place for everyone.

Personal Achievements

My most significant qualities are integrity, perseverance, and inspiration. Let me share an example. At the height of my career I suffered a debilitating stroke. I spent my time in a dark quiet room, in pain, and often could not remember my children. After extensive rehabilitation I walked again and could function in the daylight, but I wanted to live. My mother always told me “live each moment to its fullest or don’t call it living.” The doctors advised me not to push, not to return to school; they said it would cause further debilitation. Not only did I return to school and regain my Bachelor’s in Business, but I went on to get my MBA; my Ph.D. in Public Policy, Administration,  Management & Leadership; and adult teaching certificates in Higher Learning and Educational Psychology. Most significant to me was my decision to dedicate the rest of my life to helping marginalized individuals realize social equality and equitable treatment.

My specialties include social reform, ethical practices, and human resource management. I endeavor to use my knowledge, skills, and experience towards furthering scientific understanding of social marginalization to inform public policy and society toward positive social change.
